Without a doubt, we could never do what we do here at The Cross without an army of people stepping up and getting things done. Make no mistake, you and your family are a part of The Cross because others have served and are using their gifts to reach others.

When you choose to serve, you cross the line to let God use you to make a life-changing difference in other people’s lives. What on earth is better than that? God has given you unique tools, abilities, and gifts. We want to help you use what is inside you. It is important to us that you not only serve, but you serve in an area that you will be passionate about and fulfilled in.

RECOVERY AT THE CROSS

Outreachwe’re All Capable of Falling, But Christ Is Capable of Lifting Us Up Higher Than We Can Imagine
Mondays and Thursdays @7pm in the Kitchen

We are a group of believers whose foundation is built on the 12 steps of recovery and whose salvation is assured by the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross at Calvary. It is our shared experience that true freedom from our habits, hurts and hang ups comes through our personal relationship with Christ and His forgiveness.


Recovery is much more than not acting on our previous behavior. Recovery comes from living a life fully surrendered to God's will. When we live surrendered to Christ, the desire dissipates for those things that were leading us down the road of destruction. We really are “new creatures in Christ”, living the promises of a real personal relationship with our Lord and Savior and with one another.

1. We admit that we are powerless over our habits, hurts and hang ups and that our lives have become unmanageable.

I know that nothing good lives in me, that is in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. (Romans 7:18)

2. We come to believe that the power of Jesus Christ, through the working of the Holy Spirit, restores us to fellowship with God.

For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. (Philippians 2:13)

3. We make a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)

4. We make a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. (Lamentations 3:40)

5. We admit to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. (James 5:16)

6. We are entirely ready to deal with our sin before a Holy God, whatever that sin may be.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up. (James 4:10)

7. We humbly receive His forgiveness and ask Him to remove these defects of character that keep us alienated from Him.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

8. We make a list of all persons we have harmed, and become willing to make amends to them all.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (Luke 6:31)

9. We make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. (Matthew 5:23-24)

10. We continue to take personal inventory, and when we are wrong we promptly admit it.

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12)

11. We seek, through prayer and meditation, to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us, and the power to carry that out.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. (Colossians 3:16)

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we carry this message to others and practice these principles in all our affairs.

Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

WORSHIP MINISTRY

Jesus is seeking a relationship with each one of us. As we get to know Him, we want to express our love to Him more and more. One of the ways we do this is through corporate worship, the practice of singing songs together about how much He loves us and what He has done to make a way for us to heaven. We also sing straight to Him in an effort to bless Him because the Father loves to hear His children sing.


The Cross Worship family strives to create an environment that invites the Christ follower to let go and the lost seeker to meet Jesus.  We are a bunch of ragamuffin musicians who love the Lord and want to go deeper. Any worship gathering is an invitation to come along with us. Your voice is a unique instrument that only you can use for His Glory. Sing to your King. Bless the One who has set you free. Make Him known wherever you go.

We are a 100% volunteer band. If you are interested in volunteering for the worship team, please read through the following statements to understand how we operate.

1. We are a worship family not a team. We function a lot like a small group, caring for one another and pushing each other to go deeper with Christ. This is our church. We serve here and give here.


2. There are a few different stages and rooms where music is needed every Sunday and none is greater than the other. A willingness to serve where you are needed is a must.


3. You must be willing to be a student of your instrument and be willing to mentor someone else. We are always looking for ways to involve others and ensure we have depth of talent.


4. Everyone must have a thriving and active relationship with Jesus.  Standing on any stage is a leadership role and people will look to you as an example. The unity of the Spirit within our worship family is vital.


5. Playing/Singing in front of anyone here must be viewed as servanthood.


6. This is a time-consuming area in which to volunteer. When you say you can play on a Sunday, you are letting me know that you are not only available to practice on Tuesday and play Sunday morning, but that you will also make time to prepare individually musically and spiritually.


7. We keep the bar set high in the area of musical understanding, heart condition, and skill of our team. We believe that our people must be pursuing an authentic relationship with God as well as striving for excellence in their musical ability.


8. With grace and a willingness to learn, we communicate honestly with one another. We choose to be difficult to offend. We honor the direction of our leaders and talk through things in a productive and redemptive manner.

We believe in the power of prayer. As with any relationship communication is pivotal. We consider ourselves to be a family here at The Cross. Therefore, we want to stand with you in agreement as you pray to Jesus Christ.

DURING WORSHIP

For the last songs on Sunday mornings and Facedown nights, we have some of our staff members available towards the front to pray with you through any struggles or problems you're facing.

AFTER SERVICES

Immediately after each of our worship services, there will be people standing down at the back of the worship center on the left had side (if you are facing the back exit). These people are ready to listen to what you are going through and pray with you on the spot.

LOCAL MISSIONS WE PARTNER WITH:

NG3

We partner with Benji Cash and Monroe Area High School. The vision of NG3 is to facilitate character development and small group mentoring in local schools. NG3 stands for Next Generation 3. The 3 represents Character development, Community service and positive Change.

Located in Loganville, Shepherd's Staff helps more than 11,000 people each year with food, clothing, utility assistance, emergency housing, glasses for school aged children, special holiday meals, a free shopping day at Christmas, and continued education or connection to other community resources. They also offer Bible studies and faithfully pray and share the gospel with those they have the opportunity to serve.

Faith in Serving Humanity (F.I.S.H.) is a Christian outreach ministry sponsored by various churches in Walton County. We provide a low cost thrift store, affordable healthcare, and other basics necessities to those in need.

Pregnancy Resource Center of Walton provides compassionate care, practical help and evidence-based education to women who believe they’re pregnant and who may be considering abortion. We offer help without judgment and a path to Christ, both in word and deed. All of our services are offered free of charge. Our Medical Services include pregnancy testing, ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, and STI testing.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational, evangelical, Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Phoenix Community of Athens is a new church plant led by Nate Platto and Steven Link. They are part of a network of churches that focuses on the transformation of the broken and hurting through the love of Jesus and reconciled relationship with the Father. The Phoenix Community believes that the transformation of lost and broken people will be accomplished through Relationships, Discipleship, and Sacrifice.

GLOBAL MISSIONS WE PARTNER WITH:

Located in India, the Good News Center’s mission is to initiate the changes in lives and communities by empowering individuals, specifically children, with the tools of literacy, social skills, health and hygiene, social awareness, and basic job skills through education. They operate children's homes for destitute, abandoned, or orphaned children, provide medical first response care, and organize neighborhood clubs. They actively translate and distribute scripture and bring the message of Jesus to the people of India.

Mike and Terrill are missionaries who have served with Youth With A Mission work in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico for over 20 years and have distributed thousands of tracts and hundreds of Bibles since then. They developed a partnership with a local church there and over the years have built many churches and helped plant four others. They are in the process of building a children’s home that will be used as a school, library, after school tutoring and drop in center to assist the single parent with the education and care of their children. Mike also travels around the world teaching at mission centers, discipleship schools and churches on the subjects of the Holy Spirit, evangelism and hearing the voice of God. Mike and Terrill have two children who also serve the Lord.

Richie and Holly are a missionary couple we support who are serving in the Dominican Republic. They have been developing a church in their city and are currently training those who have been raised up locally to take over as they are in the process of transitioning into sports ministry. Richie has already started as a baseball chaplain for the Aguilas and is looking to start a chaplaincy program for soccer and basketball. Their heart is to have a strong ministry to those in the sports arena. Richie and Hollie have two children.

The Prados are missionaries in Chinauta, Colombia at the Highlands Colombia sports complex. They host evangelistic events and Moral Values Retreats. The retreats are coordinated with public schools. Since these are public school events, the camps confront current social issues, such as sexuality, from a Biblical perspective. The goal of Highlands Colombia is to reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ and the primary focus of the camp is to host evangelistic events.
